NYMM
Series AMR 5/25 - $200/win, $100/take the green
With
only 2 races in the past month, the NYMM Series now gets ready
for the long haul which will include 7 point races in a little
over a month. The stretch starts off at one of the new tracks
for the NYMM Series in 2008, the ¼ mile Sunday Nite Thunder
down at the Allegheny Mountain Raceway in Kane,
Pa. Sunday May 25th
will be the first of two stop for the NYMM Series down at the
Allegheny Mountain Raceway in 2008.
Owned
and operated by Harry and Sandy Spaulding, AMR is known as one
of the best short track racing tracks in the northern Pa
region. With its ¼ mile inside groove and 1/3 mile outside
groove, AMR will be a perfect fit for the NYMM drivers. The
track is located in the
village of Lamont, PA in
Elk County PA, 1/2 mile south of the McKean/Elk County Line
off Highland Road. While the NYMM Series for the most part
sticks to western New York speedways, this will be the first
NYMM sanctioned event in Pennsylvania.
“We
wanted to expand our schedule to get more fans and drivers
aware of our cars and our fast growing series” said series
owner Jim Morgan. “We’ve only heard great things about Harry
and his staff down at AMR and look forward to our first of two
visits to AMR”.
AMR is
no stranger to the modified midget community as they have
hosted 600 events before in the past, but this will be the
first sanctioned 600 class to invade AMR. AMR also runs
occasional 250cc micro sprint events which bring some of the
best 250cc drivers from the north western Pa area. The local
600cc modified midget drivers are invited to come race with
the NYMM Series as we will be waiving our sign-in fee for the
event to gain some more interest from the 600 drivers of the
area.
The
event will be a $200 to win - $100 to take the green 25 lap
A-Main feature. That’s right folks, take the green in the
A-Main and walk away with $100 for the evening. The NYMM
regulars will be out in full force, but we openly welcome
those local drivers to come join in the fun. Gates open at
3:00pm with racing
getting underway at
5:00pm sharp. Racing
is normally complete by
7:30pm getting folks back
home early. The staff at AMR will also be working with the
NYMM Series on getting the show in as soon as possible so
drivers can get on the road and back home early. For more
